I'm scared, Coach . . . .+Secret Prize GIVEAWAY!!!!

Here's the deal. . . I have been redoing/revamping my living room for the last little while and I got to this and I'm a little nervous. . .

Your job is help a sista out. . .

Should I rip it appart, sand it down, and turn it black??

. . . .or. . . . .

Should it stay the way it is?

Leave me a comment telling me I'm crazy and I'll totally screw up my little curio cabinet and have to revamp the sucker into firewood. . . . .or. . . . . that I should quit being a baby and just go for it!

I'll take all of the comments and throw them into a random number generator and whichever one comes up, I'll take their advice and they will win a prize.

Sound fun??

Make sure you leave your email address if its not on your profile so I have a way to get a hold of you for shipping info!!

This will end on May 25th at 11:59pm MST.

Ps- the secret prize is something GOOD. . . its not handmade. . .it has monetary value. . . Nothing cheesey, I promise. Do me a favor and pass the word along about my giveaway and leave me a comment. It'll be worth an extra entry into the giveaway.;)

I think you should totally make it black...It would look super classy & more modern!! I'm all about switching things up, and it's even more awesome when you do it yourself!! :-D be sure and check out my giveaway, too!! Good luck, and I can't wait to see the pics if it turns black!! ;o)

I would see what the black looks like. I don't know if that piece is bulky enough to go there, but I think black would look way better.

(ps I LOVE the stuff on the wall and the shelf and what all!!!)

Definitely paint it black. It will be much more sleek and modern and it will stand out more. Besides, you can always strip it if you don't like it!

If you have had it for awhile and want to change your look then go for the paint! It will make everyone think you have new stuff!

Go for it!!! I'm thinking that I'm going to attempt my entertainment center. I love the look of the distressed black look!! I know that you can do it :)

It pretty much needs to go black to match the table and magazine rack...yup!

Or a bright red :)

I totally think black is the way to be! I love it!

Do it Jackie! It's pretty out of date and changing it black would instantly modernize it! Maybe take the rounded top off too? Go for straight lines :)

I say black, it makes everything inside stand out that much more.... unless the things themselves are black.

After seeing what you were able to do with the magazine rack, I say revamp it DEFINITELY!

Well, you've got that awesome shelf above it w/ all black decor, so I think it needs to be black too! Black is classier, do it!

Totally go for it! I think it will look wonderful! I will post about your giveaway tomorrow. Good luck and can't wait to see the final results!

Both. I think it would look cool with a dark interior and some new hardware, but the rest of it say the classic wood look.

Kari said...

Paint it! You could paint the interior a different color? Or mod podge patterned paper on the inside?

Shauna Stanger said...

Paint it. I agree with Kari, interior a different color or the inside black and the outside a color. I don't know what other colors are in that room, but a splash of color might look good.

Julie said...

Black for sure. I think you would look wonderful. Inside I think black too but the shelve edges distressed a bit, like the magazine rack. Just my thoughts Jackie.
Take care and have a safe, wonderful and blessed weekend.

Rip it, Girl! That will totally kill in black!

Sand the cabinet a bit just to make it a little rough--not much. Paint it with a black satin paint. Then LIGHTLY sand it around the edges and put classy knobs on it. If it's not lighted--find a way to put some type of light in the top. You'll love it. I painted a corner shelf this way and it is SO C.U.T.E.

BTW--how come I had to hear about this blog from Gwen? You rascal you!

I agree....dare to do something....how about black with white on the inside and little distressing on the edges? The black would match your other stuff and the white would still allow whatever you put in there to show up. Whatcha think?
